Challenge: Developing Internal Training to Protect Against AML Risk

As a gaming operator in a heavily regulated industry, Paf faced the challenge of ensuring consistent compliance knowledge across its workforce, so that both new and long-term employees have the latest information to protect against potential AML threats. 

This is not only a best practice - it is a compliance requirement. “It's a compliance issue from the core,” explains Stenius. “Generally, reporting entities have an obligation to train their personnel.” Regulations like the introduced stricter training mandates. 

Ultimately, training staff is a critical step in AML protection, says Stenius:  

“A lot of AML-related issues come from how well you have trained your personnel because, even with monitoring systems and other checks in place, very often issues arise from direct customer contact. In those situations, it's crucial that your staff has been well trained.”

In-house vs. Outsourced Training 

While creating in-house training material was an option, Stenius wanted to ensure high levels of accuracy and clarity for all employees, which required expert input.

But now, with žž, we get automation that helps quite a lot.” 

In addition to automated reminders, žž creates an auditable trail of who has completed the courses and how they performed on the end-of-course quizzes.
